At PlantOS, we believe plant keeping deserves the same seriousness as any other craft: clear records, honest outcomes, and tools that respect the reality of biology. Our mission is to turn scattered notes, screenshots, and “vibes” into a system that makes plants survive moves, recover faster, and stay verifiably traceable through trades, sales, and years of ownership.
The plant world runs on trust, but trust is currently built on memory, claims, and inconsistent documentation. PlantOS is built to replace that uncertainty with provenance you can actually follow. A specimen should keep its biological story even when it changes hands. A breeder should be able to prove lineage without revealing private details. A buyer should be able to understand what they are getting without being forced to trust a stranger. A broker or agent should be able to coordinate logistics without drowning in spreadsheets and chat threads.
PlantOS is also a response to a bigger problem: countless plants are discovered, named, sold, and then effectively forgotten by formal research. Many institutions never collect them. Little or no data is published about what keeps them alive in their native habitats. Meanwhile, growers around the world are quietly generating the missing data every day through real outcomes in real conditions. PlantOS exists to capture those signals safely, anonymize them, and convert them into species level windows and patterns that can support preservation in the wild, not just survival in living rooms.
We build with privacy as a default. Your collection is yours. What you share is your choice. Aggregated stats only exist when sample sizes are large enough to protect individuals. And if we use AI, it should be to reduce work and increase clarity, not to create a black box that drains trust or the planet. PlantOS is committed to minimizing compute waste and offsetting any AI cost through direct preservation aligned action.
PlantOS is for people who want more than a plant tracker. It is for collectors who want precision, breeders who need clean lineage, sellers who want transparency, teams who move plants across borders, and scientists who need signals without identities. If you are tired of chaos, uncertainty, and fragile trust, you are the reason this exists.
